Thank you for your PIC purchase. This package contains several new items
that aren't covered in the printed documentation. These new items are
described below:

PIC16C5x Directory

This directory contains the following PIC16C5x software:

		PASM	Assembler for PIC16C5x devices.

PEP	Operates PIC Programmer when using 5x parts.
Also used to operate PIC16C5x Downloader.

INST5X	PIC16C5x instruction set text file.

		TEST5X	PIC16C5x test program.

DEBUG	Text file which describes 5x Downloader debug feature.

PIC16Cxx Directory

This directory contains the following software for newer PIC's
	(PIC16C64/71/84):

		PASMX	Assembler for PIC16C64/71/84 devices.

PEPX	Operates PIC Programmer when using 64/71/84 parts.
Also used to operate TrueFlight downloader for 71/84.

INSTX	PIC16C64/71/84 instruction set text file.

		TESTX	PIC16C64/71/84 test program.

TFLIGHT	An Operating Guide for the TrueFlight downloader.

PIC16C5x,71,84 Simulators (PSIMXX)

Allows you to simulate the internal operation of a PIC16C5x,
PIC16C71, and PIC16C84 Microcontrollers made by Microchip, Inc.
The simulator takes your assembled listing file and then "runs"
it on the PC's screen, showing the changing values in registers,
I/O ports, etc. The simulator is useful for troubleshooting
software bugs without having to program parts.

PIC16C71/84 Support

All PIC Programmers shipped after June 30, 1993, have firmware
installed which allows them to read and program the PIC16C71 and
PIC16C84. If you have an older programmer and you're interested in
the 71 or 84, you can purchase an upgrade for $39.

PIC16C64 Support

Starting on January 1, 1994, all PIC Programmers will support the
new PIC16C64. If you would like to upgrade your programmer to support
the 64, you can purchase an upgrade for $39 (after Jan. 1, 1994).

PIC16Cxx Prototype Board

We now include a general purpose 18- and 28-pin PIC prototyping
board with our programmer. The board, called "PIC Proto Dual" is
made by MicroEngineering Labs, another Parallax PIC customer. If
you would like additional prototyping boards, we offer them for $15.
Of course, you may also contact MicroEngineering Labs at
	(719) 520-5323.

PIC16CXX Application Programs (APPS Directory)

All PIC tools software shipped after November 10, 1993, have a new
sub-directory which contains the source code for application note
programs. These programs are a companion to the application notes
offered by Parallax, which are included with every programmer and
        emulator (downloader).
